“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.   ~   Mother Teresa

The irrigators of Lake and Sanders County have spoken, and they voted for change.  By voting to remove the current Chairman of the board, Walter Schock, they gave the Joint Board of Control a strong message that they weren’t happy with the events of the last few years, including the transfer of project management to the Cooperative Management Entity.  The proposed Flathead Irrigation Project Water Use Agreement was also a likely reason for the election results.  Two commissioners were replaced, and a third ran uncontested in the official Flathead Joint Board of Control Commissioner elections held on 05/07/2013.

Congratulations irrigators, the “silent majority” has spoken, and you’ve regained your voice concerning project decisions that affect your livelihood.  Great job to everyone for their efforts to impact real change, including the outcome of the water compact issue.
