Again, thanks to Bill & Irene, LLC, for a second Public Service Announcement linked below that will be placed in local newspapers around the Flathead Lake area of western Montana starting today.
This announcement discusses Kerr Dam in the context of the history and settlement of western Montana. Just as the Flathead Irrigation Project was created for the benefit of irrigators, individual Indians, settlers and for the community, so was Kerr Dam.
It also connects what has happened with Kerr and Flathead Lake to the Flathead Water Compact and the Daines’ Montana Water Rights Protection Act.
In their efforts to do damage control with respect to Flathead Lake levels, Gianforte, Daines and Zinke have not mentioned this connection to what is currently going on.
This is intentional. After all, each of them were instrumental in creating the mess that is only just beginning to unravel. Unfortunately for them, the issue is far too big to be hidden under their preferred “climate change” rug.
